Richlands

Richlands, North Carolina has quite the interesting history! From its humble beginnings as a farming community founded in 1891 to its booming lumber business, Richlands has always been a great place to call home. The late 1800s saw several important coal mines open in the area, bringing more jobs and people to the community throughout the 1940s. This growth had a lasting effect, as new businesses and factories opened practically every year from then on, making Richlands one of the most vibrant towns in eastern North Carolina. Today, Richlands is known for its friendly atmosphere and lively downtown atmosphere filled with interesting stores, restaurants, and other attractions. With such an amazing past and promising future, it’s no wonder so many locals proudly call it home!
